DMTF Releases Updated MCTP SMBus/I2C Transport Binding Specification

The DMTF’s Platform Management Components Intercommunication (PMCI) Working Group defines standards to address “inside the box” communication and functional interfaces between the components of the platform management subsystem (e.g., management controllers, managed devices, etc.). PMCI’s Management Component Transport Protocol (MCTP) over SMBus/I2C Transport Binding Specification is now available in version 1.1.0.

DMTF Appoints New Board Vice-Chair

The DMTF Board of Directors has appointed John Leung to serve as its Vice-Chair, a position that ensures the continuity of the organization should there be a temporary absence or disability of the Chair. Leung will assume the Vice-Chair role while also continuing to serve the organization as Vice President of Alliances.

CNSM Preliminary Call for Papers

Taking place November 26-30, 2017 in Tokyo, Japan, the 13th International Conference on Network and Service Management (CNSM) is a selective single-track conference covering all aspects of the management of networks and services, pervasive systems, enterprises and cloud computing environments. The core track is accompanied by a series of workshops and poster sessions. CNSM welcomes authors to submit original contributions in the network and service management research area.

Winston Bumpus Named DMTF Fellow

The DMTF Board of Directors has named Winston Bumpus a DMTF Fellow, the organization’s highest honor. Bumpus retired from VMware Inc. last month after a distinguished 47-year career in the technology industry, including two decades of service to the DMTF in a variety of leadership roles, including president and chair of the Board.
