DMTF Announces Availability of Protection Profile 1.0

After many months of effort within the DMTF Virtualization Protection Profile (VPP) Incubator and submission to the National Information Assurance Partnership/Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (NIAP/CCEVS) for consolidation, public review and comment, the Server Virtualization Protection Profile 1.0 is now available for download on the NIAP/CCEVS website.

Scalable Platforms Management API Released for Public Comment

Less than a month after the formation of the DMTF’s Scalable Platforms Management Forum (SPMF), the organization is releasing four Work in Progress (WIP) deliverables from the Forum for public comment. Designed to help enable simple, modern and secure management of scale-out platform hardware, the Scalable Platforms Management API Specification, Schema, Mockup and White Paper are now available for download at http://dmtf.org/join/spmf.

DMTF Publishes WS-Man (Web Services for Management) 1.2

The DMTF recently published the Web Services for Management (WS-Man) standard version 1.2. This release of the WS-Man standard clarifies support for the latest encryption protocols required by organizations and governmental agencies such as the National Institute of Standards and Technologies.

DMTF Developing Next Versions of SMASH and DASH Conformance Test Suites

The DMTF System Management Forum (SMF) is in the process of developing the next versions of the Conformance Test Suites (CTS) for DMTF’s Desktop and Mobile Architecture for System Hardware (DASH) and Systems Management Architecture for Server Hardware (SMASH) standards. DASH 1.0 CTS v2.0.0 and DASH 1.1 CTS v1.0.0 beta versions are currently available to SMF member companies.

PORTLAND, Ore. – October 7, 2014 – DMTF, an industry standards organization working to simplify the manageability of network-accessible technologies through open and collaborative efforts by leading technology companies, today announced the formation of its new Scalable Platforms Management Forum (SPMF). SPMF will create and publish an open industry standard specification and schema that meets the expectations of end users for simple, modern and secure management of scalable platform hardware.
