DMTF Publishes WS-Man (Web Services for Management) 1.2

The DMTF recently published the Web Services for Management (WS-Man) standard version 1.2. This release of the WS-Man standard clarifies support for the latest encryption protocols required by organizations and governmental agencies such as the National Institute of Standards and Technologies.

DMTF Developing Next Versions of SMASH and DASH Conformance Test Suites

The DMTF System Management Forum (SMF) is in the process of developing the next versions of the Conformance Test Suites (CTS) for DMTF’s Desktop and Mobile Architecture for System Hardware (DASH) and Systems Management Architecture for Server Hardware (SMASH) standards. DASH 1.0 CTS v2.0.0 and DASH 1.1 CTS v1.0.0 beta versions are currently available to SMF member companies.

DMTF Announces New Scalable Platforms Management Forum

Group developing standard specification to enable simple, modern and secure management of scale-out platform hardware for cloud and web-based infrastructures

PORTLAND, Ore. – October 7, 2014DMTF, an industry standards organization working to simplify the manageability of network-accessible technologies through open and collaborative efforts by leading technology companies, today announced the formation of its new Scalable Platforms Management Forum (SPMF). SPMF will create and publish an open industry standard specification and schema that meets the expectations of end users for simple, modern and secure management of scalable platform hardware.

DMTF Adopts Reorganization to Increase Agility - Informational WebEx Presentation Available

On August 28, the DMTF Board of Directors approved and enacted a structural reorganization, seeking to improve organizational agility and efficiency. The Board’s resolution was effective immediately. The structure and mission of the DMTF remains the same, with changes primarily benefiting work group and committee reporting structures.
