DMTF Releases CIM 2.43.0

PORTLAND, Ore. – February 17, 2015 – DMTF today announced the latest release of the premier standard for delivering management information via system firmware, System Management BIOS (SMBIOS) Reference Specification, Version 3, which extends support for 64-bit architecture systems. DMTF Releases SPMF's Latest Work In Progress - Version 0.94
The DMTF recently released the Scalable Platforms Management Forum’s (SPMF’s) Scalable Platforms Management API (SPMA) Specification, Schema, and Mockup, version 0.94, as Works in Progress. In SPMA 0.94, industry feedback has been incorporated and previous versions of the standard have been converged for work going forward.

DMTF Announces 2014 Star Award Recipients
Each year, the DMTF Star Awards Program recognizes members who have demonstrated great value to the organization by dedicating their time and effort to advance DMTF standards and initiatives. The 2014 Star Awards recipients include Ghazanfar Ali (ZTE Corporation), Peter Wörndle (Ericsson AB), Peter Lamanna (EMC) and Bhumip Khasnabish (ZTE Corporation).
DMTF Announces New Vice President of Finance
DMTF has appointed Selva Subbiah to the role of DMTF Vice President of Finance. Selva is a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Dell, responsible for managing a team of system management engineers and overseeing summer internship recruiting for the organization. As a 17-year veteran of the computer software industry, with a primary focus on systems management, he has held various leadership roles in startup, mid-size and large enterprise companies.
DMTF Announces Availability of Protection Profile 1.0
After many months of effort within the DMTF Virtualization Protection Profile (VPP) Incubator and submission to the National Information Assurance Partnership/Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (NIAP/CCEVS) for consolidation, public review and comment, the Server Virtualization Protection Profile 1.0 is now available for download on the NIAP/CCEVS website.

Scalable Platforms Management API Released for Public Comment
Less than a month after the formation of the DMTF’s Scalable Platforms Management Forum (SPMF), the organization is releasing four Work in Progress (WIP) deliverables from the Forum for public comment. Designed to help enable simple, modern and secure management of scale-out platform hardware, the Scalable Platforms Management API Specification, Schema, Mockup and White Paper are now available for download at http://dmtf.org/join/spmf.
