As part of its global standardization work, the DMTF provides resources and information for users and developers worldwide. Recently the organization, along with its Regional Task Force in Japan, participated in the 27th annual Japan IT Week Spring, May 9-11, 2018, in Tokyo. DMTF’s presence included both a booth and a conference session at this important event, which hosts more than 100,000 attendees interested in the latest IT technologies and solutions.

During Japan IT Week’s Data Storage Expo, DMTF President Jeff Hilland spoke and provided an overview of the organization, as well as the Redfish® standard. The DMTF also organized a booth presence at the Expo, along with representatives from the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), a long-standing alliance partner. Representatives at the booth met hundreds of IT executives, all interested in learning more about Redfish® and other standards.

Also during the week in Tokyo, the DMTF Board of Directors held one of its regular face-to-face meetings. With numerous executives in attendance, the organization continues its commitment to international support.

If your company has operations or customers in Japan, please encourage your fellow employees who speak the local language to join the Regional Task Force in Japan (note that DMTF also has a chapter in China). Companies must be DMTF members to sign up, but there is no additional fee beyond your existing dues to add international participation to your membership – so join today!
