DMTF’s educational series on the organization’s Security Protocol and Data Model (SPDM) standards is now available on our YouTube channel. During the three mini-tutorial videos, viewers will learn about SPDM 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2.

SPDM 1.0 – This tutorial explains the two major features of SPDM 1.0 - Authentication and Attestations.

SPDM 1.1 – This video focuses on the latest aspects of SPDM 1.1 including the addition of mutual authentication and session key exchange protocols to enable confidentiality, authentication, and integrity for data communication.

SPDM 1.2 – Viewers will learn about the main components of this specification such as Certificate Provisioning (allowing installation of device certificates, including during manufacturing), Alias Certificates (allowing for alias leaf certificates derived from device certificates) and Message Fragmentation (ability to send large SPDM messages in chunks).
