DMTF announces the public release of its Secured Messages using SPDM Specification (DSP0277) as well as the Secured Messages using SPDM over MCTP Binding Specification (DSP0276) as DMTF standards. These specifications – developed by DMTF’s Platform Management Communications Infrastructure (PMCI) Security Task Force – enable the same data encryption mechanism whether it is for data in flight or management of traffic, and incorporates crucial input from the organization’s Alliance Partners thus benefiting the industry at large.

The Secured Messages using SPDM Specification defines the methodology that various transports can use to communicate data securely by utilizing SPDM. Specifically, this specification defines a generic record format used for encryption and message authentication of application data within SPDM's secure session.

The Secured Messages using SPDM over MCTP Binding Specification binds Secured Messages using SPDM to Management Component Transport Protocol (MCTP) transport and further defines the transport specific details as outlined in Secured Messages using SPDM.
