Please Note: The DMTF group formerly known as the Scalable Platforms Management Forum (SPMF) has been renamed the Redfish Forum.
DMTF recently launched a Security Response Task Force (SRTF) within the organization’s Technical Committee (TC). The Task Force, under the direction of the TC, will be responsible for the coordination and management of reported security issues or vulnerabilities related to DMTF standards or DMTF open-source sample implementations.
As adoption and implementation increases, security researchers or attackers may find vulnerabilities. DMTF has developed a security issue reporting system that will evaluate and address the reported concerns.
DMTF has released Version 3.6 of the System Management BIOS (SMBIOS) Reference Specification, the premier standard for delivering management information via system firmware. Since its first release in 1995, the widely implemented SMBIOS standard has simplified the management of more than two billion client and server systems.
DMTF’s Redfish Forum held a live webinar on Friday, June 17th. Presented by the chairs of the Redfish Forum and hosted on Zoom, this webinar covered the contents of the 2022.1 release.
Key highlights of the Redfish 2022.1 release are the addition of SSH key related properties, addition of properties in Chassis to represent containment of power and thermal relationships, and a method to register an existing system as a resource block.
Recently, DMTF continued its ongoing dedication to management interoperability with the release of new versions of the Conformance Test Suite (CTS) for its Desktop and mobile Architecture for System Hardware (DASH) standard. DASH CTS 2022.1 (Java versions 8 and 9) is available, and the DMTF Certification Registry is accepting submissions.
