Applications Now Available: Expanded DMTF Board Seats

The DMTF Board recently voted to expand the total number of Board seats from 14 to 16, creating two additional seats. We kindly request applications to fill these seats.

These new seats would have terms from June 1, 2008 through March 31, 2011. Please note: to be eligible to apply for a seat on the Board, or to exercise your right to vote in a meeting of the members, your company must be in good standing with DMTF (FY2008 membership dues fully paid, or a PO# received by DMTF, by 5 p.m. PDT Wednesday May 21, 2008).

The DMTF Board is responsible for the overall direction, strategy and activity of DMTF, including managing DMTF finances, approving technical and marketing initiatives, and leading DMTF committee work. Board member companies currently pay an annual DMTF membership fee of $30,000 and are required to attend monthly Board meetings, which alternate between face-to-face meetings and teleconferences.

At the DMTF Special Meeting of the Members on May 22, an election will be held to select members to fill both of the new Board seats. Each voting member in good standing will be allowed to vote for two members maximum.  A member must receive votes from at least a majority of the eligible voting members to be elected. The results of the election will be communicated to all applicants within 24 hours of the completion of the voting process.

Members interested in being considered for the DMTF Board position should contact Kes Wold, DMTF Secretary, to receive an application form. Please email secretary@dmtf.org for more information. Application forms must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. PDT Friday, May 16. The application forms will be distributed to each DMTF voting member for review on Monday, May 19.
