Updated Member Levels

In 2004 DMTF enacted a exciting new membership program designed to clarify membership categories while making it easier to join and participate in the organization. In addition, as part of the new program, government and end user companies may join the DMTF at reduced rates.

The new membership levels offer a range of benefits, which include the following:

• Previously known as Contributing, Leadership members have all the benefits of participation and monitoring memberships, plus they have full voting privileges and the opportunity to lead the definition and development of management standards through DMTF Technical and Marketing Committees, or by chairing a working group.
  
  
• Formerly the Associate level, Participation members receive monitoring membership benefits, plus participation in DMTF working groups and certification programs.
  
  
• Monitoring membership includes access to valuable content and communications on the member side of the DMTF Web site, such as advanced access to DMTF specifications.
  
  
• Sponsored membership is for individuals without corporate or government affiliation who wish to participate in the development of DMTF standards. This category is intended primarily for self-employed contractors who would like to get involved in the work of the DMTF.
